Meet Our Team

Janaye McCrory, LMSW

Licensed Master Social Worker

I am passionate about working with teens and young adults as they navigate the complexities of this pivotal stage of life. My approach centers on creating a space where young people feel genuinely heard and understood, allowing them to explore their experiences and develop a deeper awareness of their emotions and behaviors.

I am especially committed to supporting BIPOC youth who often face unique challenges that can feel isolating and overwhelming. I understand the impact of microaggressions, navigating cultural identity, complex family dynamics, and the stigma that can surround mental health in many communities. My goal is to provide a safe, affirming space where young people of color can process these experiences without judgment and develop strategies to thrive despite systemic barriers.

Together, we work on building practical skills to manage the challenges that matter most—whether that’s anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, identity exploration, peer pressure, or major life transitions. I believe in moving beyond surface-level conversations to address what’s really going on, helping clients develop resilience and healthy coping strategies that support long-term well-being.

How I Connect With Clients

I bring a direct yet welcoming approach to my work, using real-life experiences and practical examples to help clients build skills and gain insight into their own lives. I believe therapy should feel relevant and applicable to what young people are actually going through. My style incorporates play-based techniques for younger teens, CBT skills to challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and motivational interviewing to help clients identify their own goals and strengths. This combination allows me to meet each client where they are and support them in making meaningful changes that feel authentic to who they are.

I offer both in-person and virtual sessions to meet you where you’re most comfortable. I accept Husky, Anthem Blue Cross, Aetna, and Cigna insurance plans, making quality mental health support accessible to the young people who need it.
