Meet Our Team

Amani Levitan, LMSW

Licensed Master Social Worker

Sometimes you know something needs to change—you just aren’t sure where to start.

Amani provides a calm, supportive space for children, teens, and adults to talk through what they’re experiencing, better understand themselves, and develop practical ways to move forward. Her approach is warm, approachable, and collaborative. She wants her clients to feel comfortable being themselves in therapy while knowing they have someone in their corner who will listen, support them, and help them work toward meaningful change.

Amani works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, life transitions, and other emotional or behavioral challenges. She has a particular interest in working with preteens, teens, and young adults and also welcomes adults seeking support.

I offer both in-person (Farmington location) and virtual sessions and welcome individuals and families.

Education & Experience

Amani earned her Master of Social Work from Springfield College and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Bloomfield College, where she was a McNair Scholar.

Her professional and clinical experience includes child and adolescent outpatient treatment, family support services, therapeutic mentoring, residential mental health services, and psychiatric care. She has worked with children and adolescents individually and alongside their families and has experience collaborating with schools, community providers, multidisciplinary treatment teams, and other systems of support.

Amani is currently practicing as a Master Social Worker while her associate-level licensure is in process and receives clinical supervision.

Therapy for Teens and Pre-teens

Growing up comes with a lot to navigate—school expectations, friendships, family relationships, changing emotions, confidence, identity, and the pressure to figure out where you fit.

For young people who may not always know how to explain what they’re feeling, therapy can provide a place to slow things down and make sense of what’s happening.

Amani has experience working with children and adolescents in outpatient, school, community, and family-based settings. She supports young people with concerns such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, behavioral and emotional challenges, school stress, relationships, and adjusting to changes in their lives.

When appropriate, Amani works collaboratively with parents, caregivers, schools, and other members of a child’s support system. Her goal is to help young people feel heard while also giving families tools to better understand and support them.

Amani primarily works with middle- and high-school-aged youth and can also work with younger children beginning around age 10.

Therapy for Young Adults & Adults

You don’t have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy.

Amani also works with young adults and adults who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, the effects of difficult or traumatic experiences, or major life changes. You may know you want things to be different but feel unsure about what needs to change—or how to begin.

Together, you can explore what’s getting in the way, identify patterns, build effective coping strategies, and work toward feeling more confident and grounded in your life.

Amani’s Approach to Therapy

Amani believes therapy works best when clients feel seen, heard, and supported.

Her style is calm, approachable, and collaborative. Rather than expecting you to arrive with the answers, she helps you develop insight into what you’re experiencing and identify realistic strategies for moving forward.

Amani utilizes Motivational Interviewing as a primary therapeutic approach and incorporates trauma-informed and evidence-based interventions based on each client’s individual needs. Her clinical background includes individual therapy, family therapy, therapeutic groups, crisis intervention, case management, diagnostic assessment, and multidisciplinary treatment planning.

She brings cultural humility to her work and recognizes that a person’s family, community, identity, and lived experiences all influence their mental and emotional well-being.
