Cortnie Fleury, LPCA

Licensed Professional Counselor Associate

You can understand why you feel the way you do and still not know what to do with those feelings.

Cortnie works primarily with adults, particularly women, who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, ADHD, emotional overwhelm, self-esteem, identity, and difficult life transitions. Her goal is to help clients better understand what they are experiencing without allowing a diagnosis, difficult season, or past experience to feel bigger than they are.

Cortnie brings a direct but supportive approach to therapy. She isn’t afraid to challenge her clients, while also creating a space where they feel understood, supported, and capable of making meaningful changes.

For clients who feel like their mind is always “on,” who are carrying the effects of past experiences, or who simply want to experience more peace in their lives, Cortnie helps make the work feel manageable—one realistic step at a time.

Cortnie Fleury is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. She believes in a collaborative and trusting relationship to guide the journey toward empowerment and growth. She is passionate about normalizing mental health treatment and improving access to quality mental health care.

Cortnie enjoys exploring new places, yoga, music, and practicing self-care during her free time. She integrates holistic techniques with talk therapy to help you better manage your emotions and cope with life’s difficulties.

Trauma, PTSD, & Healing

Trauma doesn’t always stay in the past. It can show up in your relationships, emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and even in the way your body responds to everyday situations.

Cortnie uses trauma-informed practices to help clients understand these responses with less judgment and greater compassion. Rather than treating your reactions as something that is “wrong” with you, she helps you recognize patterns, understand where they may come from, and build skills that support greater emotional safety and regulation.

Her approach recognizes the connection between mind and body and incorporates tools to improve awareness alongside traditional therapeutic interventions.

The goal isn’t to pretend difficult experiences didn’t happen. It’s to help those experiences take up less space in the life you’re living now.

Anxiety, ADHD, & Executive Functioning

Sometimes the problem isn’t knowing what you should do. It’s figuring out how to actually do it when your thoughts, emotions, or nervous system seem to have other plans.

Cortnie works with adults experiencing ADHD, anxiety, stress, emotional dysregulation, and feeling chronically overwhelmed. She helps clients break larger concerns into something more understandable and manageable while developing practical strategies they can use outside of therapy.

This can include learning how to recognize emotional triggers, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, improve coping skills, create realistic routines, establish boundaries, and respond to difficult emotions more intentionally.

Therapy for Women

Women often carry a lot at once—relationships, family, work, expectations, responsibilities, and the pressure to somehow keep themselves together through all of it.

Cortnie works with women navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, self-esteem, relationship concerns, identity, stress, and major life transitions. Therapy with Cortnie is an opportunity to slow down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and develop healthier ways of responding to yourself and the world around you.

Her work is especially suited for women who want to feel more grounded and at peace without being told to simply “think positive” or add another unrealistic task to an already full plate.

Cortnie received her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University of Honolulu with a concentration in Mental Health Counseling.

Cortnie has experience in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.

Cortnie’s Approach to Therapy

Cortnie approaches each session with intention.

Her style is direct, thoughtful, supportive, and collaborative. She believes therapy can hold space for difficult experiences while still helping clients move forward. At times that means offering validation and compassion. At other times, it means respectfully challenging a pattern that may no longer be serving you.

Cortnie uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, trauma-informed practices, mindfulness, and mind-body approaches into her work. She tailors treatment to the individual rather than expecting every client to respond to therapy in the same way.

Her work is practical. Therapy isn’t just about what you discover during the session—it is also about finding realistic ways to use that insight in your everyday life.

Cortnie believes wellness involves more than addressing symptoms. Her approach recognizes the relationship between our thoughts, emotions, behaviors, bodies, relationships, and the environments in which we live.

She brings this perspective into her clinical work through mindfulness and mind-body practices while helping clients identify realistic changes that support their mental and emotional well-being.

And while Cortnie takes the work of therapy seriously, she believes there should still be room for lightness, personality, and being human.Cortnie believes wellness involves more than addressing symptoms.
